How Argus BI handles personal data on the website and in the client portal.

Argus BI builds Power BI dashboards, Azure SQL data warehouses and integrations (incl. Exact Online, AFAS) and provides a client portal where clients can upload data themselves. This policy explains how we handle personal data on argusbi.nl and in the client portal (portal.argusbi.nl).
2. Who this policy applies to
- Website visitors;
- Client-portal users (our clients' employees with an account);
- Contacts who communicate with us or request an introduction.
3. Data we process

4. Our role: controller or processor
For account, contact and website data, Argus BI is the data controller. For the business data you upload via the portal, we act as a processor on behalf of your organisation; this is governed by the agreement and a data-processing agreement. Your organisation remains the controller for that data.

6. Retention
We keep personal data no longer than necessary. Account data and the business data you upload are retained for the term of the agreement and thereafter as agreed with your organisation; on request we delete or return it within a reasonable period. Our own accounting records are kept for the statutory period of 7 years.
7. Sharing and sub-processors
We never sell your data. We engage carefully selected sub-processors under data-processing agreements:

We may also share data where legally required.
8. Transfers outside the EEA
Our processing in principle takes place within the European Economic Area (Azure West Europe). Should any transfer outside the EEA occur, we ensure appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption (in transit and at rest), managed-identity-based access, strict access control per environment and division, and logging. Access to your data is limited to authorised personnel.
10. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your personal data, and to object. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. For data your employer uploaded via the portal, please direct your request to your own organisation (the controller) first. Reach us at info@argusbi.nl.
11. Cookies
Client portal (portal.argusbi.nl). The portal uses only strictly necessary cookies to keep you securely signed in: a session cookie from the authentication service and Microsoft Entra cookies during sign-in. We store your language preference (NL/EN) in your browser's local storage; this is not a cookie and is not used for tracking.
Website (argusbi.nl). For website statistics we use Azure Application Insights (Microsoft), which sets the first-party cookies ai_user (about 1 year) and ai_session (session) to measure anonymous usage such as page views and clicks. We place these analytics cookies on the basis of your consent. [Note: this requires a cookie-consent banner, or configure Application Insights cookieless — see notes.]
12. Complaints
If you have a complaint about how we handle your data, please contact us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the last-modified date at the top.
